Thank you to our sponsors, golfers and volunteers!
Project playhouse is an opportunity to provide an imaginary world where kids create make-believe stories that foster their development, leadership, and creativity. Providing children a space to call their own, with the funds raised from the event directly support’s Habitat in building and advocating for affordable housing.
We the spent first week of May cutting, constructing and painting two playhouses that turned out to be nothing short of magical! The playhouses will go into a silent auction in the ReStore starting on Monday, May 16th and the highest bidder will be announced on Saturday, June 11th at the ReStore’s 5th birthday party!
Thank you to all who donated their time and resources for this project; to our volunteers for the design and construction of each playhouse, to Lowe’s for donating a portion of the wood and hardware, to Seashore ACE for supplying the paint, and to Dave Adam’s Roofing for gifting the materials needed to build the roof.
Sturdy Savings will host their 5K run and 1 mile walk to commemorate 100 years of service in our community on the morning of April 24th. Proceeds from this event, which also includes a kids Fun Run, will benefit Habitat for Humanity and the Cape May County Zoo. A few of us will be there at 8am for the mile walk through the zoo before they open to the public. If you would like to join us please register here. We are looking forward to what is guaranteed to be a great day.
Kathy shines bright like a diamond, and so does the jewelry boutique she created in the ReStore! Kathy started by downsizing her own collection and donating her rarely worn pieces to the ReStore; seeing the speed that they sold, she started soliciting her friends and neighbors for their necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Taking time twice a week to polish and tag her new stock, she artfully drapes them on her displays, frequently selling pendants and bangles seconds after being placed on the shelves. Kathy brings sparkle to the ReStore and to our customers who enjoy their new jewels. Thank you, Kathy— you help us enjoy the finer things in life!
